Indications

  • Treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy

Pharmacology

  • Antihistamine that blocks Histamine (H1) receptor
  • Vitamin B6 analog with antiemetic properties

Dosage & Administration

  • Initial dose of one tablet orally at bedtime, maximum dose of two tablets per day
  • Take on an empty stomach with a glass of water

Interaction

  • Contraindicated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors
  • Not recommended with alcohol and CNS depressants

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to active ingredients
  • Concurrent use with monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors

Side Effects

  • Somnolence and accidents with CNS depressants

  • Pregnancy category A
  • Excreted into breast milk
  • Caution while breastfeeding

Precautions & Warnings

  • May cause somnolence
  • Avoid activities requiring alertness
  • Use with caution in women with asthma or glaucoma
  • Avoid use with CNS depressants

Overdose Effects

  • Signs and symptoms of intoxication may not be immediate
  • Symptoms may include restlessness, dry mouth, dilated pupils, and tachycardia
  • At toxic doses, may exhibit anticholinergic effects and seizures
