Description
- Stimulant laxative indicated for constipation relief

Indications
- Relief from constipation of any etiology
- Prolonged & recurrent constipation
- Bowel clearance before surgery, childbirth or radiological investigations
Pharmacology
- Stimulates colonic peristalsis
- Promotes accumulation of water and electrolytes in the colonic lumen
- Reduces transit time and softens stool
Dosage & Administration
- Oral administration recommended at night
- Start with lowest dose
- Dose may be adjusted to produce regular stools
- Maximum daily dose should not be exceeded
Interaction
- Concomitant use of diuretics or adreno-corticosteroids may increase risk of electrolyte imbalance
- Concurrent administration of antibiotics may reduce laxative action
Contraindications
- Ileus or intestinal obstruction
- Severe painful and/or feverish acute abdominal conditions
- Acute inflammatory bowel diseases
- Severe dehydration
- Known hypersensitivity to Sodium Picosulfate or any other component of the product
