Description
Doxorin is a medication used to treat bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary disease with a spastic bronchial component. It is a novel bronchodilator that selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase 4 to relax bronchial smooth muscle. Doxorin is available in 200 mg and 400 mg tablets for elderly and adult patients. It is also available in syrup form for children above 6 years of age. It should not be administered with other xanthine preparations and caution should be taken in concurrent administration with sympathomimetic drugs. Doxorin is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to the drug or other xanthine derivatives, patients with acute myocardial infarction, hypotension, and during lactation. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, headache, and tachycardia. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated case by case.
