Indications

Short-term management of post-operative pain

Description

Pyrrolo-pyrrole group of NSAID

Pharmacology

Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme system
Minimal anti-inflammatory effect at analgesic dose

Dosage & Administration

Recommended tablet dose: 10mg every 4-6 hours
Injection use for moderately severe, acute pain
Different doses for patients of different age groups

Interaction

NSAIDs or aspirin increase side effects
Anti-coagulants enhance anti-coagulant effect
Beta Blockers reduce anti-hypertensive effect
ACE Inhibitors increase risk of renal impairment
Methotrexate toxicity enhancement

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Todol or other NSAIDs
Not for use in children under 16 years
Contradicted as prophylactic analgesic before surgery
