Composition
- Each tablet contains 1250 mg Calcium Carbonate USP
- 500 mg of elemental Calcium & 200 IU Vitamin D USP
- Each DX tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate
- 600 mg of elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D USP
- Each effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg Calcium Carbonate
- 600 mg of elemental Calcium & 400 IU Vitamin D3 as Cholecalciferol USP

Dosage & Administration
- One tablet once or twice daily with water
- Taking with full stomach ensures better absorption
- Effervescent tablet to be dissolved in water and consumed with stir
Interaction
- Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
- Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
- Simultaneous treatment may require increased calcium dose
- Resins and laxatives may reduce vitamin D absorption
- Calcium carbonate may interfere with tetracycline absorption
- Hypercalcemia may increase toxicity of cardiac glycosides
- Concurrent use with bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride requires timing consideration
- Oxalic acid and phytic acid from food may inhibit calcium absorption
Contraindications
- Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
- Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
- Hypersensitivity to the components
- Severe renal insufficiencies
- Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU cholecalciferol
- Reproductive toxicity with high dose of vitamin D
- Overdoses of calcium and vitamin D should be avoided during pregnancy
- No indication of vitamin D teratogenicity in humans
- Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Passes into breast milk, should be considered when giving additional vitamin D to the child
Precautions & Warnings
- Serum calcium levels monitoring during long-term treatment
- Renal function monitoring in elderly patients and those on concomitant treatment
- Use with caution in patients with impairment of renal function
- Increased risk of hypercalcaemia in immobilized patients with osteoporosis
- Consideration of vitamin D dose when prescribing other drugs containing vitamin D
- Additional doses should be taken under close medical supervision
- Monitoring serum calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion frequently
Overdose Effects
- Hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcaemia
- Symptoms include anorexia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, muscle weakness
- Cardiac arrhythmias in severe cases
- Irreversible renal damage and soft tissue calcification with persistently high calcium levels
- Treatment includes discontinuation of calcium and other drugs, rehydration, ECG monitoring
