Indications
- Treatment of single and mixed infections
- Infections caused by resistant organisms

Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent

- Widely distributed into body tissues and fluids
- Excretion in urine within 24 hours
Dosage
- Dosage determined by severity, type of infection, and patient characteristics
- Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Specific dosages for urinary, respiratory tract infections, and gonorrhea
- Dosage adjustments for impaired renal function
- No dosage adjustment for the elderly
- Not recommended for use in children and growing adolescents
