Indications
- Relief from chronic heartburn symptoms

Dosage
- 20 mg or 40 mg Once Daily for 4-8 Weeks for healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg Once Daily for maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis
- 20 mg Once Daily for Symptomatic GERD
- Triple Therapy for Helicobacter Pylori eradication
- 20-80 mg Once Daily for Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- 20-40 mg Once Daily for Acid-related Dyspepsia
- 20 mg Once Daily for 2-4 weeks for Duodenal ulcer
- 20-40 mg Once Daily for 4-8 weeks for Gastric ulcer
- IV Injection or IV infusion as per specified dosage for adults and pediatric patients
Pharmacology
- Proton pump inhibitor
- Suppression of gastric acid secretion
- Specific inhibition of the H+/K+-ATPase
- Enteric-coated pellet formulation
- Systemic bioavailability is approximately 90% after repeated once daily dosing
Administration
- Tablet or capsule should be swallowed whole and taken one hour before a meal
- Oral Suspension should be stirred well and taken within 30 minutes
- IV Injection should be administrated over a period of at least 3 minutes
Interaction
- Extensively metabolized in the liver by CYP2C19 and CYP3A4
- No clinically relevant interactions with specific drugs metabolized by CYP enzymes
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the formulation

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Insufficient data in pregnant women
- No studies on excretion in milk
- Discontinue breastfeeding if essential
Precautions & Warnings
- Symptomatic response does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy
- Instructions for patients to swallow capsules and use antacids
Use in Special Populations
- Safety and effectiveness not established in pediatric patients
- No overall differences in safety and efficacy in geriatric use
- No dosage adjustment recommended for mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency
Overdose Effects
- Signs of acute toxicity in rats
- No specific antidote known
- Expected to be removed by dialysis
- Symptomatic and supportive treatment recommended
