Indications

Pharmacology
- Glucosamine is a natural amino-sugar
- Fundamental building block required for biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs)
- Forms proteoglycans, the essential building block of articular cartilage
- Artificially synthesized Glucosamine Sulfate increases Glucosamine level in the body
- Chondroitin Sulfate is a glycosaminoglycan found in connective tissue
- Chondroitin protects existing healthy cartilage from premature decline
Dosage & Administration
- 250/200 mg tablet: 1 to 2 tablets, three times daily
- Dose may be adjusted according to the response of the drug and body weight
- Doses can be tapered after 60 days as per individual requirement
Interaction
- No reports of significant drug interactions with various medications
- Chondroitin may enhance the blood thinning effects of anticoagulants
Contraindications
- No known contraindications for Glucosamine and Chondroitin
- Proven hypersensitivity to shellfish or sulfur is a contraindication
Side Effects
