Pharmacology
Fluconazole is a potent inhibitor of fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent enzymes.
Dosage & Administration

- Use in Specific Population: Elderly patient, Renal Impairment, Children
Interaction
- Interaction with warfarin
- Interaction with oral sulphonyl ureas
- Interaction with hydrochlorothiazide
- Interaction with phenytoin

- Interaction with combined oral contraceptive
- Interaction with cyclosporin
- Interaction with food, cemetidine, antacids, and following total body irradiation

Contraindications
Fluconazole should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or to related triazole compounds.

Pregnancy & Lactation
Fluconazole should not be used in pregnancy or in women of child bearing potential unless adequate contraception is employed.

Overdose Effects
In the event of overdosage, supportive measures and symptomatic treatment with gastric lavage if necessary may be adequate. Forced volume diuresis may increase the elimination rate. Haemodialysis decreases plasma levels by approximately 50%.
