Pharmacology
- Bactericidal activity
- Interference in bacterial cell wall synthesis
- Stability in the presence of Beta-lactamase enzyme
- Absorption with or without food
Dosage & Administration
- Usual course of treatment of 7 days
- Recommended adult dosage of 200-400 mg daily
- Recommended children dosage of 8 mg/kg/day
- Dosage in Renal Impairment
Interaction
- Increases in prothrombin times with anticoagulant therapy
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics
