Indications
- Early Menstrual Regulation
- Termination of pregnancy
- Up to 9 weeks of gestation
Composition
- 2 blister strips in each box
- One strip contains 1 tablet of Mifepristone INN 200 mg
- Another strip contains 4 tablets of Misoprostol USP 200 microgram each
Pharmacological Action
- Mifepristone inhibits progesterone activity
- Sensitizes myometrium to prostaglandin-induced contractions
- Misoprostol causes myometrial contraction and cervical softening
Dosage and Administration
- Mifepristone administration on Day 1
- Misoprostol administration on Day 2
- Post-treatment examination on Day 10-14
- Qualification of medical professionals for prescription
Interactions
- Potential interactions with CYP 3A4 inhibitors
- No interference with aspirin's beneficial effects
Contraindications
- History of allergy to Mifepristone or Misoprostol
