Description
Phydox is a bronchodilator medicine used to treat bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pulmonary disease with a spastic bronchial component. It contains Doxophylline, a novel bronchodilator that selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase 4, relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, and has a better safety profile than Theophylline. The dosage varies for elderly, adults, and children, and it should not be administered with other xanthine preparations. Contraindications include known hypersensitivity, acute myocardial infarction, hypotension, and lactation. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, and insomnia. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be carefully evaluated. Precautions are advised for patients with various health conditions and concurrent administration of specific drugs.
