Indications
Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 12 years of age and older
Dosage & Administration
- Allergic Rhinitis:
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- 60 mg twice daily
- 120 mg once daily
- 180 mg once daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 60 mg once daily
- Children 6 to 11 years:
- 30 mg twice daily
- 60 mg once daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 30 mg once daily
- Children 2 to 11 years:
- 30 mg or 5 ml twice daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 30 mg or 5 ml once daily
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria:
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- 60 mg twice daily
- 120 mg once daily
- 180 mg once daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 60 mg once daily
- Children 6 to 11 years:
- 30 mg twice daily
- 60 mg once daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 30 mg once daily
- Children 6 months to less than 2 years:
- 15 mg or 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) twice daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 15 mg or 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) once daily
- Children 2 to 11 years:
- 30 mg or 5 ml (1 tsp) twice daily
- In case of impaired renal function: 30 mg or 5 ml (1 tsp) once daily
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
Interaction
No hepatic biotransformation, potential interaction with erythromycin, ketoconazole, omeprazole, and antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide gels
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride or any of its ingredients

- Antihistamines may be associated with tachycardia and palpitations
Use in Special Populations
- Renal and Hepatic Impaired Patient: Altered pharmacokinetics, reduced starting dose for renal impairment
- Elderly Patient: Altered pharmacokinetics in individuals over 65 years of age
Overdose Effects
Dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, dry mouth; maximum tolerated dose not established
