Indications

  • Peptic ulcer diseases
  • Gastroesophageal reflux diseases
  • Ulcer induced by NSAIDs
  • Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (in combination with antibiotics)

Pharmacology

  • Proton pump inhibitor
  • Suppresses final step in gastric acid production
  • Covalently binds to H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system

Dosage & Administration

  • Oral administration
  • Dosages for various conditions like benign gastric ulcer, GERD, duodenal ulcer, NSAID-associated ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
  • IV injection dosages for duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, prevention of rebleeding, prophylaxis of acid aspiration, long-term management of Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome

No significant drug interactions observed in clinical studies

Contraindications

Pantoprazole contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any components of the formulation

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Admixed solution stored at room temperature and used within 24 hours
