Indications
- Lower respiratory tract infections

Pharmacology
- Broad-spectrum antibiotic

- Long plasma elimination half-life

Dosage
- Usual adult dose of 1-2 gm intravenously or intramuscularly once a day
- Maximum adult dose of 4 gm/day
- Usual infant and children dose of 50-75 mg/kg intravenously or intramuscularly once a day
Administration
- Intramuscular injection preparation with Lidocaine HCI
- Intravenous injection preparation with Water for injection
- Recommended slow administration over 2-4 minutes
- Patient tolerance test before treatment
