Indications

  • Treatment of signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis
  • Relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis
  • Treatment of allergic rhinitis and allergic skin conditions

Pharmacology

  • Olopatadine works by blocking the action of histamine in the body
  • Mast cell stabilizer
  • Acts as an antagonist at the histamine H1 receptors
  • Moderate protein binding in human serum
  • Not extensively metabolized
  • Mainly eliminated through urinary excretion

Dosage

  • Eye drops: 0.1% - One drop in each affected eye two times per day
  • Nasal spray: Adults and Adolescents - Two sprays per nostril twice daily
  • Tablet: Adults - Take 1 tablet twice daily, Children 7 years old or over - Take 1 tablet twice daily

Contraindications

  • Avoid spraying Olofix DS Nasal Spray into the eyes
  • Olonex Tablet should be used as prescribed by the doctor
