Indications

Pharmacology

  • Second generation cephalosporin antibiotic
  • Activity against alpha and beta haemolytic streptococci

  • Has stability against b-lactamase inactivation

Dosage & Administration

  • Usual adult dose of 250 mg every 8 hours
  • Maximum adult dosage of 4 g/day
  • Usual pediatric dose of 20 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8 hours
  • Maximum pediatric dosage of 1 g/day

Interaction
