Indications

Pharmacology

  • Proton Pump Inhibitor
  • Suppression of Gastric Acid Secretion
  • Specific Inhibition of (H⁺/K⁺)-ATPase
  • Dual Delayed Release (DDR) Formulation

Dosage

  • 30mg Once daily
  • 60mg Once daily for up to 8 weeks
  • 30mg Tablet once daily for 6 months in adults

Administration

  • Can be taken without regard to food
  • Swallowed whole
  • Can be administered by sprinkling intact granules

  • Warfarin
  • Tacrolimus

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to any component

  • Hypomagnesemia
  • Concomitant use with Methotrexate

Use in Special Populations

  • Use in children & adolescents: Safety and effectiveness not established below 12 years
  • Geriatric use: No dose adjustment necessary
  • Renal impairment: No dose adjustment necessary
  • Hepatic impairment: Consider maximum daily dose for moderate impairment

Overdose Effects

  • No reports of significant overdose
  • Multiple doses of 120 mg and a single dose of 300 mg did not result in severe adverse events
