Description
Montela 4 mg Chewable Tablet is indicated for prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma, acute prevention of Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction (EIB), and relief of symptoms of Allergic Rhinitis (AR): Seasonal & Perennial Allergic Rhinitis. It is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor (CysLT1). The dosage for adults and adolescents 15 years of age and older is Montelukast 10 mg tablet once daily. For pediatric patients, the dosage varies based on age. It can be administered with other therapies commonly used in the prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma without apparent increase in adverse reactions. Montelukast is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the product. Common side effects include diarrhea, fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and skin reactions. It should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation. Montela 4 mg Chewable Tablet has a therapeutic class of leukotriene receptor antagonists and should be stored in a cool & dry place below 30°C, protected from light & moisture.
