Dosage & Administration
- Diclofenac FC Tablet: 75-150 mg daily in 2 to 3 divided doses for adults
- Diclofenac SR Tablet: 1 tablet daily for adults, 1-3 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses for children
- Diclofenac Dispersible Tablet: 2-3 tablets daily for adults, 1-3 mg/kg body weight for children
- Diclofenac TR Capsule: One capsule daily
- Diclofenac Suppository: 50 mg suppository 2-3 times daily for adults
- Diclofenac injection: 1 ampoule daily for adults, up to 2 ampoules daily in serious cases
- Diclofenac Gel: 2-4 g of gel applied 3-4 times daily for external use only
Interaction
- Increase in plasma concentrations of lithium and digoxin
- Increased risk of haemorrhage with combined use of diclofenac and anticoagulant therapy
- No influence on clinical effect of oral antidiabetic agents
- Cases of nephrotoxicity with concomitant use of cyclosporin and diclofenac
- Serious toxicity when methotrexate and NSAIDs are given within 24 hours
- Convulsions due to interaction between quinolones and NSAIDs
- Increase in frequency of unwanted effects with co-administration of diclofenac with other systemic NSAIDs and steroids
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product
- Peptic ulcer
- Hypersensitivity to Diclofenac or other non-steroid anti-inflammatory agents
- Contra-indicated in asthmatic patients with attacks precipitated by acetylsalicylic acid or other drugs with prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor
- Not to be used under occlusive airtight dressings

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use only for compelling reasons during pregnancy
- Lowest effective dose to be used
- Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy
- Not recommended during lactation
- Insignificant quantity detected in breast milk with no expected undesirable effects on the infant
Precautions & Warnings
- Close observation in rare instances of peptic ulceration or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Close observation in advanced age patients
- Avoid contact with eyes or mucus membranes
- Proper hand washing after application
- Not to be taken by mouth
