Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose 5mg once daily
- Maximum dose 10mg once daily
- May be taken without regard to meals
Interaction
- Potentially hazardous interactions with p-blockers
- No interaction with Digoxin
- No interaction with Cimetidine
- No significant alteration of effect of Warfarin
- Food does not alter absorption rate
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine derivatives
- Pregnancy

Use in Special Populations
- Starting dose for children with hypertension 2.5mg once daily
- No data on blood pressure effect in children under 6 years of age
- Elderly equally well tolerated
- Normal dosage recommended for renal impairment
- Cautious dosage in hepatic impairment
Overdose Effects
- Excessive peripheral vasodilatation
- Possibly reflex tachycardia
- Marked and prolonged systemic hypotension
- Clinical management for hypotension
- Vasoconstrictor usage
- Possible use of intravenous calcium gluconate
- Gastric lavage may be worthwhile
