Absorption

About 40% to 50% with or without food

Recommended Dosage for Adults

200-400 mg daily

Dosage for Children (8 mg/kg/day)

As a single dose or in two divided doses

Dosage for Typhoid in Children

5 mg/kg body weight twice daily for 10-14 days

Dosage in Renal Impairment

May be administered with dosage adjustment

Interaction with Anticoagulant Therapy

May cause increases in prothrombin times
