Dosage & Administration
- Administered orally

Interaction
- Decreased absorption of beta carotene with cholestyramine
- Decreased vitamin C levels with oral contraceptives
- Decreased vitamin C levels with tetracycline
- Decreased vitamin C levels with aspirin
- Enhanced anticoagulant activity of anticoagulant drugs with vitamin E
- Impaired intestinal absorption of vitamins A and K with high doses of vitamin E
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any of its components
Side Effects
- Hypercarotenosis with large amounts of carotenoids
- Yellowish skin coloration with large amounts of carotenoids
- Gastrointestinal upset with large doses of vitamin C
- Renal stone formation with large doses of vitamin C
- Diarrhea with high doses of vitamin E
- Abdominal pain or cramps with high doses of vitamin E
- Fatigue with high doses of vitamin E
- Reduced resistance to bacterial infection with high doses of vitamin E
- Transiently raised blood pressure with high doses of vitamin E
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No teratogenic effects in humans
- Caution in prescribing to pregnant women
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution for heavy smokers and alcoholics with beta carotene
- Caution for patients with hyperoxaluria with vitamin C
- Caution in patients taking anticoagulant drugs with vitamin E
