Indications

  • Treatment of Iron, Folic Acid and Zinc deficiency
  • Specifically during pregnancy and lactation

Composition

  • Timed-release capsule
  • Ferrous Sulphate BP 150 mg
  • Folic Acid BP 500 mcg
  • Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate USP 61.80 mg

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult or Elderly: 1 capsule daily
  • 2 capsules daily in severe cases
  • Children aged over 1 year: 1 capsule daily
  • Capsule can be opened and pellets mixed with soft cool food

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the product
  • Iron overload

  • Dark stools
  • Nausea
  • Gastrointestinal irritation
  • Anorexia
  • Vomiting
  • Discomfort
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhoea
  • Rare allergic reactions

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoid use during first trimester if possible

Precautions & Warnings

  • Care in patients at risk of Iron overloads
  • Failure to respond may indicate other causes of anaemia
  • Potential interactions with tetracycline, antacids, penicillamine
  • Reduced absorption of Zinc in the presence of Iron

Overdose Effects

  • Iron overdosage dangerous, particularly in children
  • Immediate attention required
  • Gastric lavage or induced vomiting in early stages
  • Chelating agents recommended for Zinc over dosage
