Indications

Dosage administration
- Benign gastric ulcer: 40 mg daily in the morning for 4-8 weeks
- GERD: 20-40 mg daily in the morning for 4-8 weeks; maintenance dose is 20-40 mg daily
- Duodenal ulcer: 40 mg daily in the morning for 2-4 weeks
- Duodenal ulcer with Helicobacter pylori: 40 mg twice daily in association with antimicrobial agents for one week
- Prophylaxis of NSAID-associated ulcer: 20 mg daily
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: 80 mg daily adjusted according to response; max 80 mg daily

- No significant drug interactions observed in clinical studies
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation
Side effects
- Common: Headache, diarrhea
- Rare: Abdominal pain, flatulence, rash, insomnia, hyperglycemia
Pregnancy lactation
- FDA Pregnancy Category B
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Excreted in human milk
Precautions warnings
- Tablet should not be split, chewed or crushed
- Long-term therapy may lead to malabsorption of cyanocobalamin or increase risk of osteoporosis related disorders
Overdose effects
- No known symptoms of overdosage in humans
- Highly protein bound, not readily dialyzable
Reconstitution
- IV injection: Slow intravenous administration over 2-5 minutes
- IV infusion: Intravenous infusion over approximately 15 minutes
- Reconstituted solution may be stored at room temperature for a maximum of 4 hours
