Indications
- Bronchial asthma
- Bronchospasm
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Pharmacology
- Doxophylline is a novel bronchodilator
- Selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase 4
- Inhibits platelet activating factor (PAF) and generation of leukotriene production
Dosage & Administration
- 200 mg tablet for elderly
- 400 mg tablet for adults
- Syrup or tablet for children based on age and body weight
- Use of Doxophylline SR tablet for specific dosage
Interaction
- Not to be administered with other xanthine preparations
- Caution with sympathomimetic drugs
- Concurrent administration with specific drugs may affect hepatic clearance and plasmatic levels
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug or other xanthine derivatives
- Acute myocardial infarction
- Hypotension
- Lactation
