Indications
- Treatment of infections caused by gram-positive bacteria
- Treatment of staphylococcal infection
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Respiratory tract, nasal, ear, and throat infections
- Sensitive and other bacterial infections such as osteomyelitis, enteritis, endocarditis, urinary tract infections, and septicemia
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for adults: 500mg orally four times a day
- Dosage for adults as an injection into the muscle or vein
- Dosage for children depending on age and weight
- Dosage for children as an injection into the muscle or vein
- Different dosages for specific types of infections
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to penicillins
Side Effects
- Mild and transient side effects similar to other penicillins
