Description

  • Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent with broad-spectrum activity

Indications

  • Treatment of single or mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms
  • Effective against infections resistant to other antibiotics
  • Suitable for urinary, respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin, soft tissue, and systemic infections

Pharmacology

  • Broad spectrum of activity against gram-negative and gram-positive aerobic bacteria
  • Bactericidal action through interference with DNA gyrase enzyme
  • Rapid and well absorption from the gastrointestinal tract
  • Widely distributed into body tissues and fluids

Dosage

  • Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
  • Specific dosages for different types of infections and age groups
  • Duration of treatment varies with infection severity

Administration

  • Instructions for intravenous infusion administration
  • Proper handling and suspension of the IV bag

Interaction

  • Avoid concurrent use with magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, or zinc-containing products
