Composition

  • Each tablet contains Aluminium Hydroxide Gel BP (Al2O3 47%, minimum): 250 mg
  • Each tablet contains Magnesium Hydroxide BP: 400 mg
  • Each 5 ml contains Aluminium Oxide (Equivalent amount of Aluminium Hydroxide Gel USP): 175 mg
  • Each 5 ml contains Magnesium Hydroxide (Equivalent amount of Magnesium Hydroxide Paste USP): 225 mg

Pharmacology

  • Well-balanced combination of essential non-systemic antacids
  • Efficacious and palatable
  • Dependable antacid preparations without acid rebound, constipating or cathartic effects
  • Symptomatic relief of hyperacidity
  • Aluminimum hydroxide gel with high neutralizing power
  • Magnesium hydroxide with slow but sustained acid neutralizing property
  • Forming a protecting coating over the ulcer surface

Dosage & Administration

  • Tablet: Two tablets 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed by the physician
  • Suspension: 2 teaspoonful 1-3 hours after meal and at bedtime or as directed by the physician

Interaction

  • Inhibition of absorption of certain drugs including Azithromycin, cefpodoxime, ciprofloxacin, isoniazid, rifampicin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, pivampicillin, tetracyclines, Gabapentin, phenytoin, Itraconazole, ketoconazole, Chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, and Phenothiazines

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in hypophosphataemia
  • Contraindicated in alkalosis and hypermagnesaemia

Side Effects

  • Alkaluria with long-term use
  • Predisposition to nephrolithiasis

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Avoidance in the first trimester of pregnancy

Precautions & Warnings

  • Reduction in absorption of tetracycline when used concomitantly
