Melafresh 0.01%+4%+0.05% (Cream)

Indications

• Short-term treatment of moderate to severe melasma
• Avoiding presence of sun
• Use of sunscreen with SPF 30 or more

Pharmacology

• Contains Fluocinolone Acetonide, Hydroquinone, and Tretinoin
• Mechanism of action is unknown
• Fluocinolone Acetonide is an anti-inflammatory
• Hydroquinone interrupts melanin synthesis
• Tretinoin is a keratolytic agent

Dosage & Administration

• Applied once daily at night
• Applied at least 30 minutes before bedtime
• Gently wash the face and neck with a mild cleanser
• Apply a thin film to hyperpigmented areas
• Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing during the day
• Pediatric use not established

Interaction

• Avoid medicated or abrasive soaps
• Avoid cosmetics with drying effects
• Avoid products with high alcohol concentration
• Avoid keratolytic drugs
• Avoid concomitant use of photosensitizing medications

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity or allergy to the product or its components

Side Effects

• Possible severe allergic reactions
• Skin reactions such as redness, peeling, burning, dryness, itching

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy Category C
• Potential risk to the fetus
• Corticosteroids in human milk
• Caution in use during nursing

Precautions & Warnings

• May cause mild to moderate irritation
• Local irritation expected at application site
• Discontinue use in case of hypersensitivity or chemical irritation
• Potential for systemic absorption of corticosteroids
• Manifestations of Cushing's syndrome and hyperglycemia
