Indications
- Treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms
- Wide range of indicated infections including respiratory, urinary, gastrointestinal, skin, soft tissue, bone, joint, pelvic, eye, ear, nose, and throat infections
- Effective against organisms resistant to other antibiotics
- Suitable for use alone or in combination with other antibiotics
- Effective for gonorrhea and septicaemia
Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
- Broad spectrum of activity against gram-negative and gram-positive aerobic bacteria
- Bactericidal action through interference with DNA gyrase enzyme
- Rapid and well absorption from the gastrointestinal tract
- Widely distributed into body tissues and fluids
- Half-life of approximately 3.5 hours
- Excretion of 30-50% of oral dose in urine within 24 hours

Administration
