Dosage
- Standard dosage 1.5-3 mg up to three times daily
- Severe cases dosage of 6-12 mg 2 or 3 times daily

- Elderly and debilitated patients require lower doses
- Children dosage adjusted to low body weight (0.1-0.3 mg/kg)

Interaction
- Enhanced sedative effects with other centrally active drugs
- Co-administration of cimetidine may prolong elimination half-life
- Concomitant intake with alcohol should be avoided
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to bromazepam
- Severe respiratory insufficiency
- Severe hepatic insufficiency
- Sleep apnea syndrome

- Not recommended for primary treatment of sleeplessness caused by psychotic illness
- Caution while driving or using machinery
