Indications
- Primary hyperlipidemia and mixed dyslipidemia
- Hypertriglyceredemia
- Dysbetalipoproteinemia (Type III hyperlipoproteinemia)
- Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH)
Pharmacology
Selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase
Dosage & Administration
- Usual dose range of 5-20 mg/day
- Maximum recommended dose of 20 mg/day
- Recommended starting dose for homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia is 20 mg once daily
Interaction
- Cyclosporine
- Gemfibrosil
- Lopinavir/Ritonavir or atazanavir/ritonavir
- Coumarin anticoagulants
- Concomitant lipid-lowering therapies

Very High Cholesterol and High Risk of Ml or Stroke
40 mg once daily
Interaction with Cyclosporine, Lopinavir/Ritonavir or Atazanavir/Ritonavir
Limit the dose of Rosuvastatin to 5-10 mg once daily
Concomitant Use with Gemfibrozil
Avoid combination therapy and limit the dose of Rosuvastatin to 10 mg once daily
Dosage Adjustments
Should be made at intervals of 4 weeks or more
