Description
Sefanid is an acid-stable and semi-synthetic oral cephalosporin.
Pharmacology
Cefadroxil inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, inhibiting cell wall biosynthesis resulting in bacterial cell death.
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage for different infections
- Children dosage
- Administration with or without food
Interaction
No significant drug interaction with other drugs.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Cefadroxil or any of the ingredients.
Side Effects
Commonly reported side effects are gastrointestinal disturbances and hypersensitivity phenomena.
