Indications

Pharmacology

Dosage

  • 30 mg Once daily
  • 60 mg Once daily for up to 8 weeks
  • Maintenance of Healed Erosive Esophagitis for 6 months
  • 30 mg tablet once daily for 6 months in adults
  • 30 mg tablet once daily for 4 weeks

Administration

  • Swallowed whole
  • Open capsule
  • Sprinkle intact granules on one tablespoon
  • Can be taken without regard to food
  • Granules should not be chewed

Contraindications

Use in Special Populations

  • Safety and effectiveness in patients below 12 years age not established

  • No dose adjustment for renal impairment
  • Considerations for hepatic impairment

Overdose Effects

  • No reports of significant overdose
  • Multiple doses of Dextac 120 mg and a single dose of Dextac 300 mg did not result in death or severe adverse events
