Composition

• Tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1250 mg (Coral source)
• DX tablet contains Calcium Carbonate USP 1500 mg (Coral source)
• Effervescent tablet contains Calcium Carbonate (Coral source) USP 1500 mg

Dosage and Administration

• One tablet once or twice daily
• Dissolve 1 effervescent tablet in a glass of water to drink orally
• Take with plenty of water
• Better absorption on a full stomach

Interaction

• Thiazide diuretics reduce urinary excretion of calcium
• Systemic corticosteroids reduce calcium absorption
• Simultaneous treatment with ion exchange resins and laxatives may reduce Vitamin D absorption
• Interference with absorption of concomitantly administered tetracycline preparations
• Increased toxicity of cardiac glycosides during hypercalcaemia
• Reduced gastrointestinal absorption with bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride
• Inhibition of calcium absorption by oxalic acid and phytic acid

Contraindications

• Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism
• Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis
• Hypersensitivity to the preparation's components
• Severe renal insufficiency
• Concomitant digoxin therapy

Pregnancy and Lactation

Precautions and Warnings

• Monitor serum calcium levels during long-term treatment

Overdose Effects

• Hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcemia
