Indications
- Add-on therapy for stable angina pectoris
Pharmacology
- Inhibits fatty acid pathway
- Increases heart energy
- Prevents angina pectoris
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose: 35mg twice daily or 20mg thrice daily during meals
- Assess treatment response after three months
Interaction
- No reported drug interactions with beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, nitrates, heparin, hypolipidemic agents, or digitalis preparations
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active substance or excipients
- Parkinson's disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless legs movement disorders, severe renal impairment
Side Effects
- Common side effects: dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, rash, pruritus, urticaria, asthenia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Preferable to avoid use during pregnancy
- Risk to newborns/infants cannot be excluded during breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
- Not a curative treatment for angina attacks or initial treatment for unstable angina pectoris
- Not a treatment for myocardial infarction
