Description
- Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution for treating corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, and blepharitis caused by susceptible bacteria
- Bactericidal with in vitro activity against a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms
Active Substance
- Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg
Preservative
- Benzalkonium Chloride 0.06 mg
Indications
- Treatment of corneal ulcers
- Treatment of conjunctivitis
- Treatment of blepharitis
Dosage and Administration
- Instill 2 drops into the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first six hours for corneal ulcers
- Instill 1 drop every two hours for two days for bacterial conjunctivitis
- Pediatric use safety and effectiveness not established

- Potential interaction with theophylline
- Potential interaction with warfarin

Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or any other component
- Hypersensitivity to other quinolones

- White crystalline precipitates in approximately 17% of patients

- Conjunctival hyperemia
