- Inhibition of inflammatory response

Dosage & Administration
- 0.5% ophthalmic suspension: For steroid responsive ocular inflammation - Instill 1 drop four times a day
- 0.5% ophthalmic suspension: For inflammation after surgery - Instill 1 drop four times a day for the first two weeks after surgery
- 1% ophthalmic suspension: For steroid responsive ocular inflammation - Instill 1 drop two times a day
- 1% ophthalmic suspension: For inflammation after surgery - Instill 1 drop two times a day for the first two weeks after surgery
- 0.5% ophthalmic ointment: Apply a small amount four times a day for the first 2 weeks after surgery
- Ophthalmic gel: Instill one to two drops four times a day for the first 2 weeks after surgery
- Use in children: Safety and effectiveness not established
- Geriatric Use: No overall differences in safety and effectiveness observed
Interaction
- Not expected to affect the pharmacokinetics of systemically administered medicinal products
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in most viral diseases of the cornea
- Contraindicated in most viral diseases of the conjunctiva
- Contraindicated in mycobacterial infection of the eye
- Contraindicated in fungal diseases of ocular structures
- Contraindicated in known or suspected hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Contraindicated in known or suspected hypersensitivity to other corticosteroids
Side Effects
- Elevated intraocular pressure
- Optic nerve damage
- Visual acuity and field defects
- Posterior subcapsular cataract formation
- Secondary ocular infection from pathogens
- Perforation of the globe where there is thinning of the cornea or sclera
- Ocular adverse reactions: abnormal vision/blurring, burning on instillation, chemosis, discharge, dry eyes, epiphora, foreign body sensation, itching, injection and photophobia
- Ocular adverse reactions (less common): conjunctivitis, corneal abnormalities, eyelid erythema, keratoconjunctivitis, ocular irritation/pain/discomfort, papillae
- Non-ocular adverse reactions: headache, rhinitis, pharyngitis
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- Caution advised during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Re-evaluation after two days if signs and symptoms fail to improve
- Intraocular pressure monitoring if used for 10 days or longer
- Consideration of fungus invasion in persistent corneal ulceration
- Physician consultation if redness or itching becomes aggravated
- Avoid wearing contact lenses during the therapy

Storage Conditions
- Store at below 30 degree C in a dry place protected from light
- Do not touch tube tip to any surface
- Avoid use after one month of first opening
