Indications
- Management of moderate to moderately severe pain in adults
- Short-term (five days or less) management of acute pain
Pharmacology
- Analgesic and antipyretic properties
- Weak anti-inflammatory activity
- Action primarily in the CNS
- Increased pain threshold
- Inhibition of COX-1, COX-2, and COX-3 enzymes
- Central acting synthetic opioid analgesic
- Weak inhibition of the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose: 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours
- Maximum of 8 tablets per day
- Can be administered without regard to food
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to tramadol, paracetamol, or opioids
- Contraindicated in situations where opioids are contraindicated

- Not to be taken in combination with other tramadol or paracetamol-containing products
- Use with caution when taking medications such as tranquilizers, hypnotics, or other opiate containing analgesics
Use in Special Populations
- Safety and effectiveness not studied in the pediatric population
- Dose selection cautious for elderly patients
- Dosing interval adjustment for impaired renal function
- Not studied in patients with impaired hepatic function
