Indications

Dosage

  • 30 mg Once daily for maintenance of Healed erosive esophagitis and relief of heartburn
  • 30 mg Once daily for Symptomatic Non-Erosive GERD
  • 60 mg Once daily for Healing of erosive esophagitis

Administration

  • Swallowed whole
  • Alternatively administered by opening capsule and sprinkling intact granules on one tablespoon

Interaction

  • With medicines: Atazanavir, Warfarin, Tacrolimus, Clopidogrel, Methotrexate

Contraindications

  • Known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Pregnancy Category B
  • No adequate and well-controlled studies with Dexlansoprazole in pregnant women or Lactating mothers

Precautions & Warnings

  • Gastric Malignancy
  • Clostridium difficile Associated Diarrhea
  • Bone fracture
  • Hypomagnesemia
  • Concomitant use with Methotrexate

Use in Special Populations

  • Safety and effectiveness not established in patients below 12 years of age
  • No dose adjustment necessary for elderly patients
  • No dose adjustment necessary for patients with renal impairment
  • Consider maximum daily dose for patients with moderate hepatic impairment

Overdose Effects

  • No reports of significant overdose
  • Multiple doses of Delanzo 120 mg and a single dose of Delanzo 300 mg did not result in severe adverse events
