Indications

Pharmacology
Ivermectin selectively binds to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels leading to parasite death
Dosage & Administration
- For Treatment (If COVIO Positive): 2 Tablets of Ivermectin 6 mg once daily for 5 days
- For Prophylaxis: Different dosage based on body weight
- Strongyloidiasis Dosage Guidelines: Based on body weight
- Onchocerciasis Dosage Guidelines: Based on body weight
Interaction
Rare reports of increased INR when co-administered with warfarin
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the product

- Asthenia/fatigue
- Abdominal pain
- Anorexia
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Pruritus
- Onchocerciasis:
- Arthralgia/synovitis
- Lymph node enlargement and tenderness
- Pruritus
- Skin involvement
- Fever
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category: Category C
- Lactation: Excreted in low concentrations in human milk
Precautions & Warnings
Caution in patients with onchocerciasis and possible Mazzotti reaction
Use in Special Populations
- Pediatric Use: Not established for patients weighing less than 15 kg
- Geriatric Use: Effectiveness in subjects aged 65 and over not well-determined
