Composition

  • Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium
  • Vitamin D3 BP (as Cholecalciferol) 200 IU
  • Magnesium Oxide BP equivalent to 40 mg Magnesium
  • Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate BP equivalent to 1.8 mg Manganese
  • Cupric Oxide equivalent to 1 mg Copper
  • Boron Citrate equivalent to 250 mcg Boron
  • Zinc Oxide BP equivalent to 7.5 mg Zinc

Pharmacology

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily with meals and water
  • Children 3-7 years: 1 effervescent tablet daily
  • Children 7 years to older: 1 to 2 effervescent tablet daily

Interaction

  • Risk of hypercalcemia with thiazide diuretics
  • Importance of timing with certain foods and medications
  • Effects on digitalis and other cardiac glycosides
  • Need for strict medical supervision and monitoring

Contraindications

  • Absolute contraindications for hypercalcaemia, bone metastasis, sarcoidosis, primary hyperparathyroidism and Vitamin-D 3 overdosage
  • Relative contraindications for severe renal failure, hypersensitivity to tablet ingredients, etc.

Side Effects

  • Mild gastro-intestinal disturbances
  • Occasional skin rash with vitamin-D3 supplements
  • Risk of hypercalciuria and hypercalcaemia with long-term treatment

Pregnancy & Lactation

Increased requirements for calcium and vitamin-D 3 during pregnancy and lactation; precautions for supplementation

Precautions & Warnings

  • Supervision for patients with renal failure or hypercalciuria
  • Periodic checks of plasma calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion
  • Monitoring of serum and urinary calcium levels with long-term treatment

Overdose Effects

Symptoms of nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, stomach cramps, etc. in case of overdosage
