Description
- Ivacure tablet is indicated for the treatment of strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis, filariasis, scabies, and head lice.
- Ivacure selectively binds to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrates, leading to hyperpolarization and death of the parasite.
- Dosage & Administration: Treatment for COVIO positive patients, prophylaxis, recommended dosage for strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis.
- Interaction may occur when co-administered with warfarin, resulting in increased INR.
- Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any component of the product.
- Side Effects: Adverse reactions related to Ivacure for strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis.
- Pregnancy & Lactation: Pregnancy category C, excreted in low concentrations in human milk, caution for nursing mothers.
- Precautions & Warnings: Mazzotti reaction, ophthalmological reactions, hyperreactive onchodermatitis, and adverse reactions in patients heavily infected with Loa loa.
- Use in Special Populations: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients weighing less than 15 kg not established, insufficient data for geriatric use.
- Storage Conditions: Keep in a dry place, below 30°C, protect from light, keep out of the reach of children.
Dosage and Administration
- 2 Tablets of Ivermectin 6 mg once daily for 5 days for COVIO positive patients.
- Dosage guidelines for Ivermectin for strongyloidiasis based on body weight.
- Recommended dosage of Ivermectin for onchocerciasis on an empty stomach with water.
Indications
- Treatment of strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis, filariasis, scabies, and head lice.
