Indications
- Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
- Relief of symptoms associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria
Pharmacology
Blocks histamine responsible for allergic symptoms such as pruritus, rhinorrhea, and watery eyes
Dosage & Administration
- Allergic Rhinitis:
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- 60 mg twice daily
- 120 mg once daily
- 180 mg once daily
- Children from 6 to 11 years:
- 30 mg twice daily
- 60 mg once daily
- Children from 2 to 11 years:
- 30 mg or 5 ml twice daily
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria:
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
- 60 mg twice daily
- 120 mg once daily
- 180 mg once daily
- Children from 6 to 11 years:
- 30 mg twice daily
- 60 mg once daily
- Children from 6 months to less than 2 years:
- 15 mg or 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) twice daily
- Children from 2 to 11 years:
- 30 mg or 5 ml (1 tsp) twice daily
- Adults and children 12 years and older:
Interaction
May interact with erythromycin, ketoconazole, and antacids
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Fexofenadine Hydrochloride
