Indications
- Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions like rhinitis and conjunctivitis
- Alleviating complications of itching, pain, and tenderness associated with neurofibroma
- Symptomatic treatment of allergy such as hayfever and urticaria

Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1mg twice daily with food, may be increased to 2mg in severe cases
- Children above 3 years: 1mg twice daily with food
- Elderly: Same as adult dose or as advised by the physician
Interaction
- Potentiation of effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohols
Contraindications
- Reversible fall in platelet count observed in some patients receiving oral antidiabetic agents and Ketotifen concomitantly
Side Effects
- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth in isolated cases
- Slight dizziness
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Continue previous treatment for a minimum of two weeks after starting Kefton
- Avoid exacerbation of asthma by continuing previous treatment
- Supplement treatment with antimicrobial therapy during intercurrent infection
- Impaired reactions on the first day of treatment
- Avoid alcoholic drinks
- Potentiation of effects of sedatives, hypnotics, antihistamines, and alcohol
