Indications
- Disinfects clean hands of doctors, nurses, and individuals
- Disinfects surgical instruments
- Disinfects skin prior to surgery or invasive procedures
- Disinfects wound dressings
Composition
- 0.5% w/v Chlorhexidine Gluconate
- 70% v/v Isopropyl Alcohol
Pharmacology
- Bactericidal effect of chlorhexidine cation
- Bacteriostatic effect at low concentrations
- Cell death at high concentrations
Dosage & Administration
- Disinfect clean hands and contaminated materials with approximately 3 ml
- Disinfect surgical instruments by immersing in approximately 5 ml solution for 2 minutes
- Disinfect skin prior to surgery with approximately 3 ml solution
- Disinfect wounds/wound dressings with approximately 3 ml solution
Interaction
- Incompatible with soaps and anionic agents
- May cause brown stains on fabrics in contact with hypochlorite bleaches
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Chlorhexidine Gluconate or any composition

- Teeth discoloration
