Description
- Broad spectrum activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria
- Treatment of urinary, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections
- Treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms
- Indicated for severe systemic infections, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and more
- Pharmacological interference with bacterial DNA synthesis
- Oral administration with rapid and well absorption from the gastrointestinal tract
- Excretion of unchanged drug and biologically active metabolites in urine
- Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Specific dosage recommendations for lower and upper urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and gonorrhea
- Dosage adjustment for patients with impaired renal function
- No dosage adjustment required for the elderly
- Adolescents and children dosage: 7.5-15 mg/kg/day
- Duration of treatment depending upon the severity of infection and clinical response
- Special dosage recommendations for cystic fibrosis patients
- Instruction for the use of IV infusion
- Contraindications for patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones
