Pharmacology
Binds to and activates intracellular glucocorticoid receptors. Modifies transcription and protein synthesis. Inhibits leukocyte infiltration at the site of inflammation, interferes with mediators of inflammatory response, suppresses humoral immune responses.

- Intra-articular administration for rheumatoid and osteoarthritis

Interaction
- Convulsions with concurrent use of cyclosporine
- Induction of hepatic enzymes by drugs like phenobarbital, phenytoin, and rifampicin
- Inhibition of metabolism by drugs like troleandomycin and ketoconazole
- Enhanced or diminished effects of anticoagulant when given concurrently
