Indications
- Initial treatment of advanced ovarian carcinoma
- Palliative treatment of recurrent ovarian carcinoma
Pharmacology
- Alkylating agent
- Binds covalently to DNA
- Modifies cell cycle
Dosage & Administration
- Intravenous use only
- Recommended dosage is 400 mg/m2 as a single I.V. dose
- Dosage adjustment based on hematologic nadir
Interaction
- Should not be mixed with other drugs
- Potentiation of renal effects by neurotoxic compounds
Contraindications
- Severe renal impairment
- Severe myelosuppression
- History of severe allergic reactions to Carboplatin
- Bleeding tumors

Precautions & Warnings

- Careful planning of combination therapy
- Supportive transfusional therapy may be required
